Taking Back What is Mine

So on account of those crazy ants, three days last week I had to go without breakfast.  Three days!

First there was Wednesday, the day after the invasion, when I didn't eat fast enough so mom took my food away.  Then, overnight on Wednesday/Thursday a 'possum sabotaged the power in our area and we had an outage.  Mom overslept a bit and she actually left for work without giving any of us kitties our breakfast!  Finally, Friday morning she was running late again and didn't have time to supervise me eating...sigh...

I liked Raymond and Busby's comment about a mote around my food bowl so that's what I had mom try.
My mote even has a dragon for extra protection!

My food bowl is sitting in the plastic dish of water.  I hope my moat is big enough so the ants can't get across.

And my Green Froggy for back-up.

Monday will be the test.  Those ants attacked in the kitchen on Friday.  They are brave little things, that's for sure.  I hope this works, since I'm quite fond of breakfast and I don't appreciate not getting any!
Wish me luck!

  2. Disgusting ants ! No kitty should have to endure them. Thank goodness for the dragon on your mote and your froggy. We used to have the introoders.

  3. I am so sorry you had to miss three breakfasts! It is unacceptable. But those ants look so scary - too many of them and they are huge!! I hope the dragon and froggy protect you from the invasion. I hope these ants will find somewhere else to go and you have a peace at home soon!

  5. I can't believe your human left you without breakfast for so many days! You could have starved to death!!

The moat sounds like a good idea. My human hates killing any creatures, but she will go after ants. Usually she hunts around until she can locate how they get into the house, then goes outside and sprays their entrance way with bug spray. That way, it keeps the poison out of the house and only kills the minimum.

  8. When we had trouble with ants, we got something called The Antser (www.theantser.com). It is a sort of tray that you fill with water on the inside to keep the ants out, and you put your food dishes on top. It works great!

  14. Very creative so the ants won't get into your food. You think big.
