Toesday with Minnie

We are now eight days under siege by those evil Ants.

We cannot leave a crumb unguarded lest the scouts find it and call their troops.
So far the moats are proving effective.  Over the weekend, the Ants invaded Hollie's room and found her food dish.  Thankfully she had only left a few crumbs and the invasion was small.  Mom employed the moat tactic and the next day, the Ants again invaded but this time they could not get to Hollie's dish; however they did find bits she had dropped on her place mat.

In keeping with Toesday, I can only show you pawsies...
mom moved Hollie's eating spot to this plastic place mat for easier clean-up.
Mom has also shifted Pip's eating spot and so far the Ants are fooled.

Smidgen and I are fast eaters so the Ants don't have a chance at our food and mom can pick our dishes up right away.  Mom is a bit crabby for having to stay on top of the cleaning, but we all must do our part if we are to keep the upper paw!
hee hee!
Have a great Toesday!

  1. The ants would freak our mom out. Is it true that a line of sugar...or is it salt? will keep them away? We'd heard that, but it sounds like an old wives tale to us!

  4. Just awful that you kitties and Mom have to endure this. My bug man put out little square things, don't know what it was called. Sorry.

  5. We love the "moat" iniative! So clever! And we guess that if yoo fancy your dinner warm ~ the moat can have warm water innit!

  6. Actually, one thing my human noticed that keeps ants away sometimes is... catnip! They don't seem to like the scent. Although it's kind of hard to spread around when you have kitties (like my roommate Binga) hoovering it up!

  7. These ants sound so greedy!! I'm glad the moat is working. I heard ants don't like the smell of garlic. (They sound like vampire!) Maybe placing garlic can keep them from coming?

  8. Oh man, we think your mom may need to call in the National Guard. These ants cannot continue this invasion!!

  9. Perhaps you need reinforcement in this war on ant terror.

  10. we had ants coming inside once and Lynettea put a piece of honeycomb (the kind you buy in a packet of lollies) right next to their nest outside and they stopped coming in.
That was after she had tried everything else to wipe them out and failed.

  12. Those horrible ants! I hope you can get rid of them soon! My grandma hadded them in her kitchen and a man came and sprayed something inside and outside and they wented away.
