Marketplace Monday Blog Hop: Wag this!

Remember how I said mom ordered new foods for me yesterday?
Well, they came today!
When mom came home from work this afternoon, a huge box was waiting at our door.  Show 'em Minnie!

Do you see what the box says?  For this Marketplace Monday, I'd thought I'd share where mom shopped: Wag.com

Mom came across this site some time ago when she was shopping for high-sided litter boxes, and she's ordered again several times since.  Wag has a pretty good selection of pet products for cats, dogs, fish, small animals, and even reptiles!

Now mind you, there are things we like and don't like about this site; though when we need something in a hurry, we have no complaints!  You can get fast, free shipping if you spend 49 or more green papers.  By fast they mean 2 days or faster and our food came essentially overnight.  Free.

YoW!  a pawsome box and stinky goodness!

Wag is part of a "Familyhood" of sites.  You can shop at all of these sites and combine your cart to get free shipping.  Wag offers a 15% off coupon code on their website for first time shoppers too.  You can earn credits also for purchasing certain items through them, including pet food.

We've had good experiences shopping with them and just wanted to share.

Easy Sunday Weekend Wrap Up

Besides being annoyed by the flashy box, it's another Easy Sunday and weekend here.

Mom spent about two squillion hours on the innernets this morning researching food for me.  I don't know if you remember my last trip to the v-e-t and the tests my bloods needed to take.  Well, apparently my blood scored a little too high on the BUN part, and that isn't good.  Mom changed my food a little bit, trying a different brand that is supposed to be low in phospho-rus, which is best for my kidneys since they aren't too good.  Now she decided to revamp everything, did all kinds of reasearch and ordered the food for me.  My new diet should start tomorrow night.

I'd heard the message machine when mom got the call from the doc.  My blood still needs to redo a test that didn't work the first time.  Mom says she'll just take me back in a couple of months and do all the tests again and see if the food changes have helped my blood score lower on that BUN thing...
So far I don't have to take any medicines, so paws crossed the food helps!

**********

On Caturday, I snoopervised mom as she fixed up our scratchy tree.

She used new sissal rope to redo the front and then took some of the scrap pieces that were still in good shape to recover a side post.

And the clawr of approval...

Last week mom was in Idaho.  Of course she didn't bring back any soovenirs for us kitties but she brought back a potato for Wriggley...

It's not really a dog toy but mom performed beanbag ectomy and squeaker implant surgery...

::squeak, squeak, squeak::

We're enjoying some deceptively warm weather this weekend.
We'll spend the rest of today nappin and maybe we'll get another episode of "Squirrel" on TV.
Hope you're havin a nice weekend too!

Toesday with Minnie

Yello!

It's me...Minnie!

No, really!  I'm hidin out in the closet.  Yeah, our mom is on another trip for her workplace.
I thought I heard the pet sitter lady.

While mom is gone, me and my pawsies might do a little explorin on the counter tops.
If I could show you, they might look like this...

You know, we've been bloggin for a couple of years now.  Our mom is pretty low key about stuff and hasn't done anything for our blogoversaries or milestone posts.

But guess what?

This post will be our 366th!  That's a leap-year's worth of posts!  Pretty good for us considerin our mom is lazy and won't help us we don't post everyday.  Since our mom isn't around, we think we should celebrate and have a pawty!  Come on over!  We want to thank everybuddy for bein our friends!  You guys are the best!

There isn't much in the 'fridge but we've got plenty of stinky goodness to go around!
Mom won't be back until Thursday evening...

Hee hee!
She'll never know!

Surprise Audit

Mom came home the other evening with some groceries.  She had done a bit of shoppin mostly for us, but she had some of her own foods too.  She was late, so she had to take Wriggley outside before puttin anything away.

Of course I figured she'd appreciate my help, you know, make sure she got the right stuff an all...

Only mom wasn't outside for very long.  Seems she was expectin me to get into inspect the groceries.

Mom figured I'd want to test the food she got for Wriggley.  Well, I surprised her!

I did a surprise inspection audit and got into checked out the bread!

I could tell it was different from the last time I did a bread inspection and I had to make sure it was the right stuff...you know, whole wheat yet an all...

Hmmm...

What else ya got, mom?

Marketplace Monday Blog Hop: Red, White, Blue...and Green!

That would be made in the USA and eco friendly :).  Two things we really like here.
The company and products we are talking about are West Paw Design.

West Paw products are made in the USA in Bozeman, Montana.  They use recycled InelliLoft fibers that are made from recycled plastic bottles!  Check out more about the company here and learn more about how they are eco-friendly here.

We are big fans and can attest to the comfort of their cat and dog mats...

They also have a fun selection of plushy and tough dog toys...

Not to mention organic cat nip...

Minnie's wormie is a West Paw toy and it's older than she is!

We are on their email list and got a coupon code we'd like to share.  It's valid through October 31st and it's good for 10% off your entire purchase: use October2012 at Westpawdesign.com.

Have fun shopping!

Field Day!

Yesterday, mom had some work she needed to do.  She's got some field work she's trying to finish up.  She's also been wanting to take me out and about.  Guess what?  I got to with mom on a field trip!

First, I had to pack some snacks in my lunch box...we were gonna be gone for most of the day.

Then we were off!  Mom's taken me to some of her fields before, but this one was new for me.
I had some run-around time when we got there.

woo hoo!

But then I knew mom had her stuff to do so I set her to work while I kept an eye on our truck.

bo-o-o-o-oring!

I made sure mom took breaks and I did some exploring.  The other day mom said she startled a bunny out of one of the plots.  I was hopeful I'd get to see one.  I could tell they'd been around, but I didn't see any this time.

Anybunny there?

Do you see me?

I'm doing my best "wait" at the front of the plot.

We were at the field for a couple of hours.  Mom made some good progress and decided that was enough.  But our fun wasn't over!

We drove over to Davis, to the University.  That's a fun place to explore.  Lots of good sniffs to er...sniff!  Mom went to school there and it's where she earned her degree.  Pretty impressive considering the campus is overrun by squirrels.
Do you see that little guy on the walk?  There are actually two about to go into the building...

You know, I went to school here too.  I have three degrees!
The courtyard behind me is where my classes were held.

no classes today.

The University has some strange art.  We always walk by the Egghead.
These are pictures from a previous visit. Mom always has to stop and make me pose. ::sigh::

Crazy, I tell you!

On our way back to our truck, we walked by the dairy!  For all the times we have visited the campus, this was my first time seeing the dairy.  You know, I wasn't really interested in these guys...or gals...

Until that one fella came running up to the fence!  I must admit I reacted a bit poorly...and got into a bit of trouble.  What does mom expect, what with it being my first time there and all?  Still, she made me do a bit of training work on my manners and such.

And finally, when we got back to the truck, I saw this guy nosing around it...

He had made a hasty get-away up into the tree.  Do you see him, pretending to be a branch?  Talk about nerve!

Whew! What a day I had! Thanks for coming along and letting me share. Have a great rest-of-the-weekend, everybuddy!

Woofs,
~Wriggley

Toesday with Minnie: Livestrong!

Yello(w)!

It's me...Minnie!
Wriggley's and my pawsies are here on this very special Livestrong Toesday.

Wriggley's Lucky Paw; he lost his toe to cancer.

Our thoughts, purrs, and prayers are with those whose lives have been touched by cancer.

We pray for a cure; for strength and courage and good health for those fighting the disease or who are survivors.
