Easy Sunday

We're having a beautiful spring-like weekend with lotsa sunpuddles and temperatures in the 70's.
Yesterday was a bit blustery so there was some good leaf action to watch.  I love watching the leaves blow around!

 Lilly

And even feavers!

Would you believe that mess?  Yeah, the mom lady saw that out the window and then realized there was a breakfast program on the Xtreme Bird Channel in progress!

We can't tell for sure if he got a mocker bird or a pigeon.  And then today the mom lady went and filled our bird feeders paid up our regular bird channel premiums... er, sorry little birdies...

Sunpuddles or not, we are still game for some lap time to round out this Easy weekend.

Here's hopin your weekend has been just as nice.
Have a good week, everybuddy!

Easy SUNday

We all invaded Hollie's room to catch some sun-puddlin action.

Of course she didn't mind.

tee hee!

Momma had a nightmare last night.  She said it was one of those dreams where she was trying to get away from something skeery but couldn't move for a heavy weight on her chest.
She fell asleep listening to an audio book that might have factored in to it but we can't figure what the heavy weight bit was all about...

She was able to let out a couple of stifled screams to wake herself up.  That part was skeery for us!

Momma went out today to visit her feral family.  She has been their food lady for over a year now and she can pet them and they will rub against her legs.  Normally we don't pay attention to their smells when Momma gets home but for some reason, today we just could not get enough sniffs of her pants legs.

Besides all that we are having a nice weekend and we even had a brief episode on the Extreme Bird Channel!

We hope everybuddy is enjoying their weekend too and has a great week ahead!

Caturday

The tree outside this window has little fruits on it that the Starlings seem to love.

The tree branches come so close to our window and the birdies are just Right.  There.

I gotta get a closer look!

Easy Sunday

Me an Ditto spent the day glued to the big screen TV window.

There were all kinds of programs on our bird channel.  PLUS, the Squirrel Broadcasting Network (SBN) was on!

The action on both networks got up close and pawsonal at times.
Just lookit!

I had a hard time containing myself.  tee hee!
All that exciting TV wore me out.  I did need a short nap but then it was time for dinners.

Such a pawsome day.
I hope your Easy Sunday was just as fun!

Toesday with Minnie

Yello!
It's me...Minnie!
My pawsies and I are cutting it close this Toesday, what with Smidgen hoggin the computer for games an all...

Anyhoo, this is us hangin out of an Easy Sunday, bird watchin, stuff like that.

The squirrel channel has had a lot of action lately.  The characters are collectin food to store up for the winter.  It is kinda fun to see them hoovering up the seeds and nuts until their little cheek pouches get full, mol.

A lot of times, though, I sit and watch the bird channels on the other side of the blinds.  I can sit and watch the birds right outside the window and they can't see me.

I sometimes can't resist an occasional pounce at the TV window, the action is so exciting.  Gotta keep those birds on their toes, right?

Well, I guess that's it for this Toesday.
Hope everybuddy had a good one!

Easy Sunday

Nothin beats an Easy Sunday.

Course as is pretty usual here, it has been an Easy weekend all over.
Mom has been keeping food out for the critters and bird feeders full up with our Kitty TV premiums, so we are getting some good programming.  The woodpecker channel had some shows and we have been enjoying quite a bit of squirrel programs.

I'm embarrassed to say that mom was way off base in identifying those birds she said were Flickers.  They have been back since, squillions of them even.  I was able to get a better look and set mom straight,  They are European Starlings!  Mom says it has been a while since she has seen so many in our yard.  She calls them the Lawn Patrol on account of the they walk through the grassy yards and look for bugs an stuff to eat.

Not the greatest pic-shers, but these are the starlings.

They have really cool spotty feathers, and a long, point and skeery beak, mol!

They were all makin so much noise earlier that I couldn't say we were havin a quiet Easy Sunday, though it has still been a nice one.

Have a good one, everybuddy!

Easy Sunday

As you see, I am pretty much summing up our Easy Sunday and weekend.

Course, mom did run some errands yesterday and did some yard clean up.  She and Wriggley went for morning staggers walkies both yesterday and today.  Mom said Wriggley did ok and they proly managed a mile both days.

We, well mostly me, enjoyed some catio time today and bird watching.

Mom always puts the sprinklers on in our backyard on Sunday mornings.  The birds sure love the opportunity for a shower, especially the hummerbirds.  One even came to check me out while I was on the catio.

Not the greatest pic, but can you see the hummer?

Maybe it's on account of the heat or the drought but we get a lot of action at our bird baths.  We have about four different saucers out in our yard.  Today we had some visitors that we hadn't seen before.  Our flashy box doesn't have the range so mom took some good looks through her field glasses and then we looked them up in our bird book.

First we saw these yellow birds.  We knew they weren't Goldfinches and mom was stumped until the male dipped his head for her to see his black cap.  From the book we could figure it was this guy...

Wilson's Warbler

We saw a male and a female.
There was so much action at the baths today that mom refilled them three times!  Third time was when she saw a group of these guys...

Northern Flicker

There were four of them.  Mom figured they were juveniles because their heads were all grey.  Their body markings were definitely Flicker, though.  Mom took a chance while they were still in our yard to do that third refill on the bird baths.  She was hoping if she scared them off they wouldn't go far and come back for more water.  So far we haven't noticed them come back :(  When mom lived in Davis, she said she would see them alot.  This is the first time we've noticed them in our yard where we live now.

Well, I'm going to get back to my Easy Sunday...

until dinner time at least.

Have a good one, everybuddy!

Easy Sunday...?

There I was, trying to enjoy a little Easy Sunday morning bird TV...

When...

"Hey everybuddy, the Cat Channel is on!
Grab some bird seed and pull up a perch."

Maybe I'll just nap the rest of the day...

Toesday with Minnie

Yello!

It's me...Minnie!
oof!
And my pawsies...

We might be hamming it up a bit for the Pawparazzi...
And doin some bird watchin...

Our mom decided not to plant Pip in that pot she had.  Instead she got some flowers and seeds.  Yeah, I know.  Where's the fun in that?!?!?  Anyhoo, she planted her plants and the seeds have even started to grow.  Mom was admiring the flowers on Sunday and then noticed some birds sitting on the edge of the pot, she thought pulling out the seedlings!  She shooed them away and looked...well, they had pulled some leaves from the portulaca plants but the seedlings seemed ok.  Yesterday afternoon when mom went out to water stuffs, well, the flowers were gone!  Somebirdies ate all of the flowers!

We don't think we've ever had that happen before.  Maybe they are tryin to hint at mom to fill the feeders?  At least the little seedlings are ok.  They are special flowers and plants for Monarch Butterflies!

We haven't seen the Woodpecker back again.  It seemed like overnight from Caturday to Easy Sunday that the treat bar we put out for him went from untouched to completely gone; no trace on the ground or anywhere.  We proly should've been watchin the late nite squirrel channel, mol!

That's about it for this Toesday.
Have a good one, everybuddy!

Toesday with Minnie

Yello!
Do you see what me an my pawsies have today?

It's a Woodpecker treat bar!  Hang on...gotta open the package before we can hang it up outside...

We've been gettin some pretty good action on our Bird TV network.  On Sunday the Hummerbird channel had a lot goin on.  There were three chasin around our backyard and when mom had the sprinklers going, they were flitting through, takin a shower, mol!  But then in the evening we had a surprise special from the Woodpecker Channel!  This was a first for us and it even preempted our dinner time.  Ok, so it was mostly our mom interested in the program...we just wanted our dinnner...

Anyhoo, mom couldn't get a picture cause he was in one of our trees out of range of our flashy box.  We checked our bird book and figured out it was this guy...

Mom thinks even the finches and sparrows were surprised to see him cause they seemed to want to run him off.  Mom said it was funny to watch the woodpecker run around and under the branches to get away from the other birds!  These woodpeckers like ants and bugs and the tree he was in has both - our mom tries very hard not to use chemicals in our yard.  We hope he'll come back and we thought we'd put out some more food options.

Okay...so my pawsies an I are really more interested in explorin on the counter tops.

Excuse us, won't you?  Or what the heck, come on along!
hee hee!

Have a great rest-of-the-Toesday, everybuddy!

Surprise!

If you are a classical music fan, you might know of Haydn's Symphony No. 94 in G Major, nicknamed "Surprise" for the second movement.  If not, well, have a listen anyways.  It's really good!

At any rate, just keep that in mind as you watch this little movie...

Hee hee!

Have a great weekend, everybuddy!

Bird's eye view...

of the birds!

I like to sit at the very tippy top of this tree that is by our big screen TV window.
Sometimes the birds will be flying around right outside.

It's like I'm up close and pawsonal with the them, you know?

The outdoor patio light is just right there too, and sometimes the birdies will perch on it.

ooh!  I think one is there now...

awww, he's gone now.

Bye, bye, birdie!

hee hee!
