Best.Day.Ever.

or at least best day in a long while, bol!

Hey everybuddy, I hope you don't mind a post from me today.

 

 

You know, these days I have a hard time walking on uneven ground.  My rear end isn't as strong as it used to be and when I step on things that are uncomfortable for my paws, I can't really limp or adjust my balance and I stumble or my rear end sort of caves.  Of course this has mom worried.  As a result, though, our adventures and walkies have been kept to a minimum.  I haven't been able to go off road and explore or play fetch in my field.

 

 

Mom has been thinking and wondering if my track shoes would help.  Today we decided to actually give it a go.  I was skeptical...ok...I just didn't want to wear my track shoes...

 

 

Though at least I only had to wear the rear ones...



 

 

Now I can't even the remember the last time I was able to get out into the dirt and do some real exploring, or for me and mom to take a longer walk on the dirt roads around my field.  Let me tell you, with my track shoes on, it was like old times!  To quote mom, I was motoring, bol!  I didn't stumble or limp; just go, Go, GO!

 

 

I even got to step on a bunny, bol!  Really!  Right where I put my paw, the little feller shot out from the grass.  Mom had hold of my fun line but I think I was too surprised to think about chasing it (Mom keeps me on a long line for safety now since I don't hear well any more).  We saw three bunnies today...or maybe the it was the same bunny three times...

 

Anyhoo, besides taking mom on that walkie today for Mother's Day, I gave her big smiles.  She said it did her heart good to see me moving so well and back in my element, so to speak.

I was having so much fun and just going and going, now mom wonders if she didn't let me overdo it.

I wonder if I can get another massage from Pip...

Toesday with Minnie

Yello!

It's me...Minnie!

 

 

Me an my pawsies are hangin out on the catio.

We do enjoy the little bench we have out here.

 

 

The weather here has been really nice lately.  Almost summer-like, even.  Last week we had a couple of days where we were close to needing the cold air blowy machine and we are starting to hear them come on around the neighborhood.

 

Last Friday mom brought some garden plants home.  Her workplace had a plant give-away for everybuddy.  Mom got squillions of tomato and pepper plants plus a coupla squash and one watermelon.  Besides that, the plants are a mystery, mol.  Mom did not keep track of the different varieties.  We know the pepper plants are baby bell types but that is it.  Anyhoo, over the weekend mom planted everything.  She put most of the peppers in a little planter just beyond our catio.

 

 

We told her to save room for catnip plants for us, but well, she never listens to us.

 

 

Last Friday was also My Day.  No, that's not a typo for May Day...I mean Minnie Day!  My estimated birfday!  I'm not sure how old I am...mom was supposed to check my records...maybe nine?  I'm pretty sure I'm not in double digits yet.  I got my own Minnie Box too, but I was actually more interested in getting out on the catio than checking out my pressies.  Mom picked out the sort of toys that I like: a mini wand with feathers and a butterfly and most impawtantly the string to attack and chew, a feather copter, plus some treats.  You know, my estimated birthday could've been on Smidgen Day too...but we all know we don't share around here (hee hee!) so mom picked May 1 for me.
