Well, I must apologize in advance for this Toesday...

I wanted to post some pic-shers of action pawsies, but I was feelin a little jumpy anyway, and then mom kept smackin me and scarin me with the wand toy.

So I had to say enough!

No pawsies for you!

Luckily, Wriggley was nearby and he said he'd back me up.

I hope you don't mind dog paws this once?

It gets pretty warm here in the summer.  I'm thankful for the central air...

Toesday with Minnie

We are now eight days under siege by those evil Ants.

We cannot leave a crumb unguarded lest the scouts find it and call their troops.

So far the moats are proving effective.  Over the weekend, the Ants invaded Hollie's room and found her food dish.  Thankfully she had only left a few crumbs and the invasion was small.  Mom employed the moat tactic and the next day, the Ants again invaded but this time they could not get to Hollie's dish; however they did find bits she had dropped on her place mat.

In keeping with Toesday, I can only show you pawsies...

mom moved Hollie's eating spot to this plastic place mat for easier clean-up.

Mom has also shifted Pip's eating spot and so far the Ants are fooled.

Smidgen and I are fast eaters so the Ants don't have a chance at our food and mom can pick our dishes up right away.  Mom is a bit crabby for having to stay on top of the cleaning, but we all must do our part if we are to keep the upper paw!

You know it's a good program when...

When mom came home from work this afternoon, Smidgen and I were engrossed in an episode of bird TV...

Mom was able to walk in the door, take off her shoes, go find the flashy box, and take this pic-sher.

We didn't budge until she came up to the window and scared the birdies away...

::sigh::

Taking Back What is Mine

So on account of those crazy ants, three days last week I had to go without breakfast.  Three days!

First there was Wednesday, the day after the invasion, when I didn't eat fast enough so mom took my food away.  Then, overnight on Wednesday/Thursday a 'possum sabotaged the power in our area and we had an outage.  Mom overslept a bit and she actually left for work without giving any of us kitties our breakfast!  Finally, Friday morning she was running late again and didn't have time to supervise me eating...sigh...

I liked Raymond and Busby's comment about a mote around my food bowl so that's what I had mom try.

My mote even has a dragon for extra protection!

My food bowl is sitting in the plastic dish of water.  I hope my moat is big enough so the ants can't get across.

And my Green Froggy for back-up.

Monday will be the test.  Those ants attacked in the kitchen on Friday.  They are brave little things, that's for sure.  I hope this works, since I'm quite fond of breakfast and I don't appreciate not getting any!

Invasion of the Food Snatchers!

You won't believe what happened to me the other day - my room was invaded!  By ANTS!

I still take my time and eat my meals at a leisurely pace.  Tuesday morning, in between bites of breakfast, a couple of ants asked if I would share.  Why not?  I had plenty of food and this was just a couple of little guys.

Well, let me tell you, don't trust ANTS!  Apparently one of them beat it back to their nest and the next thing I knew every ant in the world was in my breakfast!

yow!

There were tens of squillions of them!  Oh, it was a scary situation.  I was trapped in my room all by myself and I couldn't get to my food any more!

ok, I don't have enough plastic ants so you'll have to pretend the spiders 

and flies are ants too...

remember this is a re-enactment...I really couldn't get to my food...

the ants stole it all!

As soon as mom came home and let me out, I ran for my life!  Mom took care of those piggy ants but I'm still sticking to the high ground.

Bring it on, ants!  Next time I won't be so nice - I've got my laser eyes ready!


But do you know, mom had no faith in my laser beam capablities, and on Wednesday, when I didn't finish my breakfast, she took it away before she left for work!  I had to starve!  Again!

Mom abandoned us all last week for a work trip.  I made sure she didn't go anywhere over the weekend.

And I even got some special attention.  She gave me the brush Caturday and Sunday!

I love the Zoom Groom!  Just lookit all the furs that came off of me, and this was from Sunday!

I can't show you more than my paws in case I don't have any furs left on me...

Lookit our Zoom Grooms.  Can you tell we love to get the brush?  The blue one on your right is Wriggley's first.  In the middle is the one mom is using on him now.  It's only a couple of years old and see how worn it is?  There's a funny story that goes with that but I'll have ta tell you later.

hmmm...maybe it's about time Wriggley had a bath...
