Toesday with...Smidgen?

Yup, it's me, Smidgen!  Minnie is letting me take this Toesday.  And I'm starting to see why she didn't mind so much!

It never fails around here.  We're doing something - ok, maybe we look cute, but hey, some things can't be helped -  and the next thing you know that flashy thing is going off in our eyes!  I was giving myself a bit of a bath, cleaning my paws and all...

I couldn't even wash my face in peace!

Ramp it Up!

We have a neato ledge above our hallway kind of like the one in Smidgen's room above the closet.  Smidgen and I used to launch from this cat tree up to the ledge... and in the process we kind of scratched up the wall…

This is me, Pip.  Can you tell?  I look so small!

A few years ago mom found these carpeted shelves/ramps an' made this set up for us:

Sometimes Pip an' Smidge, if they are in a fit of zoomies, will still launch from the cat tree to the ledge. I always use the ramps like a good kitty! Can you see their scratchies on the wall (mom, I think it’s about time you painted).

Thanks everyone for the nice compliments on our new tree.  We are really having fun with it!  The little ramp back-history is because mom still has one left over that she hasn't put on the wall!  The piece de resistance with the new tree was for us to have this ramp to make it easier reaching the ledge above the closet.  Hanging the ramp was her project for Sunday, but get this: mom lost the hardwares!  D'oh!  And once she realized she couldn't find everything, she didn't want to go into town!  Mooooom!  ::Sigh:: 

Mom is celebrating Labor Day by working (for a bit at least - d'oh!) and we hope also by going to the hardware store for us (pulease!?!)  We'll be napping and playing and dreaming of this:

So yesterday, Caturday, we sent mom out on a very impawtant shopping trip.

And look what she came back with!  squeee!

A ginormous new tree!  For us!

Ok, I admit it, that was the plan.  The store had a huge sale and we were all hopin' mom would get a good deal on a huge tree - this was 40% off!  She says she has wanted to do this for us for a while and she didn't want to pass this up, so she spent the monies.

Me and Smidgen had to check it over, before she got it too far into the house.

And this is where we had mom put the tree.  In Smidgen's room:

Pip: it has this rope that is perfect for whapping even while you are lying down!

Look where else we can go.  There's this ledge above the closet.  Ummm, mom?  You need to do some better cleaning up here!

We have one more project for mom today to make it easier for us to get up onto the ledge.  More on that later.  Hope everyone is having a fun weekend too!

Aaaah!  The comforts of home!  We like to lie on our mom’s chest. This is her view when we do.

In the winter time, this is prime real estate. Kitty wars break out as we each want to lie on mom. Sometimes we can work out a compromise and the late comers get her legs. Other times we all lose and she doesn’t let any of us on her.  Ok, we don't have too many "rules" here, but no kitty wars on mom is a biggy!

Mom brought home a flyer for a super sale on Saturday at our Fudz Temple the pet store. We have our paws crossed she can get a good deal on a tree – there is uncharted vertical territory in this house!
