We're ready!

We're all set for the Fourth of July here in our part of the USA.

We've got our fireworks and...

oh, no...not those loud boomie things.

I'm talkin about fireworks Quint style.

 Isn't it beautiful?  Just what fireworks aught to be: pretty and, most impawtantly, quiet :)

We put it up in our hallway.

 

Our mom's got a thing for kitty pawsies and she always smiles when she looks at Quint's painting.

Hiding in plain sight

Mom was sitting on the floor next to my chair, reading or something.  I like to hang out near her.

The cold air blowy machine came on so she got up to close some windows.  Then she started looking around for me.  She checked my usual nappy spot on my big bed when she closed the catio door.  Nope, not there.  I wasn't on top of my ptu in the bathroom either.  Then she came back into the front room.

Hello-oh!  I was here the whole time!

We gotta wonder about her sometimes...

Friday Funnin'

Um...hai...yeah, it's me...Hollie...

It was a while ago now, but the lady switched out my toys.

She brought out this little mousie for me.

I do like to whap it around the room.

But you wanna know what's even more fun?

What do you think.  Doesn't mousie look a little like a ::ahem:: hairball?  Ok, I hafta admit I have my fair share.  But when the light is low in my room I can fake the lady out pretty good with mousie!  One morning even, as she was going to clean my box, she saw it there, started grumbling, and went for the paper towels.  See, it was early yet and my room was still pretty dark.  She got to the point of getting ready to pick it up when she realized what it really was, mol!  I've been able to freak her out a few times now.

Toesday with Minnie

Yello!

 

It's me...Minnie!

It's mostly me this time...and from last month.

I didn't have any close-ups of my pawsies but mom helped me out with a special effect so you hafta just focus on my pawsies, mol.

 

 

We were out on the catio, minding our own business, but when I saw the pawparazzi, I decided to turn on the charm.

 

 

This was a while ago, because there are still plants in the planter, hee hee!

 

 

Mom saw me out here one day, intently watching something.  I think she was watering those plants.  Anyhoo, as she was trying to figure out what I was looking at, a lizard ran across the catio!  And through my clawrs, even, that was how close it came to being my snack me!

 

 

Would you believe mom was actually relieved my clawrs came up empty?!?!?  She doesn't really like for us to catch critters unless it's a big hairy bug running around her bed.

 

Have we ever mentioned our mom is a party pooper?

Easy Sunday Catsup

Yello!  It's me...

It's that time of year when our mom gets busy, stressy, and generally crabby what with her work place an all.

 

I've gone back through the archives to see what we've been up to...

er...not too much...

 

We've been enjoying bird T.V. and even some lizard T.V.

Do you notice anything behind me?

That's right!  There is nothing behind me.  Mom succeeded in killing the plants she had put in the little planter box.  Thankfully (for her...we don't even like peppers or tomatoes) the plants she put in pots are growing strong and there are a fair few tomatoes set.

See the holes all over the leaves?  Leaf cutter bees did that!  They use the leaves to line there nests.  We checked our little mason bee house but we can't tell if that is where they are nesting.  Mom got a couple of new mason bee nests she is going to put our in our yard.

 

While mom was taking that picture, she saw this guy...

As soon as mom had the flashy box in his face, he made a hasty retreat to the boxwoods.

I tried to convince mom she aught to let me out to get a close look, but she never listens.

 

 

Some things never change!

 

In other news, Wriggley had a birthday earlier this month.  We all had to endure our town's annual Pioneer Wriggley Day Fireworks celebration.  They were right behind our house again this year!  Mom said they put on a great show.  We took her word since we couldn't see anything from under the couch/bed/closet, and judging by the noise, well...

 

Hollie has a birthday coming up next month.  Hey, from April through July we have a birthday a month!  I'm just a couple of months older than Hollie, so that makes her the youngest of us.

 

Besides mom not helping us post or visit, we're doin ok.  Hopefully we can get her back on track.
