Field Day!

Yesterday, mom had some work she needed to do.  She's got some field work she's trying to finish up.  She's also been wanting to take me out and about.  Guess what?  I got to with mom on a field trip!

First, I had to pack some snacks in my lunch box...we were gonna be gone for most of the day.

Then we were off!  Mom's taken me to some of her fields before, but this one was new for me.
I had some run-around time when we got there.

woo hoo!

But then I knew mom had her stuff to do so I set her to work while I kept an eye on our truck.

bo-o-o-o-oring!

I made sure mom took breaks and I did some exploring.  The other day mom said she startled a bunny out of one of the plots.  I was hopeful I'd get to see one.  I could tell they'd been around, but I didn't see any this time.

Anybunny there?

Do you see me?

I'm doing my best "wait" at the front of the plot.

We were at the field for a couple of hours.  Mom made some good progress and decided that was enough.  But our fun wasn't over!

We drove over to Davis, to the University.  That's a fun place to explore.  Lots of good sniffs to er...sniff!  Mom went to school there and it's where she earned her degree.  Pretty impressive considering the campus is overrun by squirrels.
Do you see that little guy on the walk?  There are actually two about to go into the building...

You know, I went to school here too.  I have three degrees!
The courtyard behind me is where my classes were held.

no classes today.

The University has some strange art.  We always walk by the Egghead.
These are pictures from a previous visit. Mom always has to stop and make me pose. ::sigh::

Crazy, I tell you!

On our way back to our truck, we walked by the dairy!  For all the times we have visited the campus, this was my first time seeing the dairy.  You know, I wasn't really interested in these guys...or gals...

Until that one fella came running up to the fence!  I must admit I reacted a bit poorly...and got into a bit of trouble.  What does mom expect, what with it being my first time there and all?  Still, she made me do a bit of training work on my manners and such.

And finally, when we got back to the truck, I saw this guy nosing around it...

He had made a hasty get-away up into the tree.  Do you see him, pretending to be a branch?  Talk about nerve!

Whew! What a day I had! Thanks for coming along and letting me share. Have a great rest-of-the-weekend, everybuddy!

Woofs,
~Wriggley

  6. Woo, Wriggley! What an exciting day! You did a great job guarding the truck and keeping bunnies away. I admit, I'm not as calm as Zim is around moo-cows, so I might have gotten into a bit of trouble with your mom, too.
Thanks for taking us with you!
