We interrupt our regularly scheduled Toesday report because we gots an award!
Thank you so much to the Katnip Lounge for passing this on to us - we are touched. We have a lot of fun visiting them and seeing what crazy things they are up to.
The award is for our mom an she is supposed to say seven things about herself. She liked how others were letting the kitties do the talkin, so she's gonna let us dish the dirt, mol!
1. Friends call our mom “scrappy” because aside from catching wild monster Smidgen (mol), she once wrangled a baby ‘possum that had gotten stuck inside a house an helped set it free. She is petite though stronger than she looks!
2. She studied and has her degree in Animal Science but she works with plants. In fact, she has always worked with plants and not animals.
3. She loves learning about animal behavior and clicker training. She likes to teach our doggy bro both silly and useful tricks. She’s even taught Pip a couple.
4. Mom loves books and reading. Her dream was always to have a room in her house that was a “library” and she has that now! She doesn’t think she could ever get one of those electronic readers…she says there is just something special about a real book.
5. Mom has absolutely no sense of style and Hates (!!) clothes shopping. She says she is glad that she can just wear jeans and a T-shirt to work!
6. She was never allowed to have a cat when she was growing up. As a teenager, the summer before she left home for college, she took in an orphan litter of kittens. She smuggled them into her room and it was a month before she had the nerve to tell her dad. He never knew about them! And of course he had to say they could stay! (The ones she kept became loved companions for her brothers).
7. Our mom loves art, including comics, animation, and certain Anime. She even does some drawing and painting.
We hope you enjoyed readin' these few things about our mom.
We’d like to pass the award along to a few of the first friends we've made since starting our blog:
Oh, and thank you every one for the nice compliments on our placemats. Mom found them on-line and they were on clearance so she couldn’t resist gettin them! They are made by ORE, though she thinks this particular design is discontinued (they do have some other cute "meow" designs).
She originally got the placemats for me an Smidgen, but she thought they were too cute for us to muss up, so she took them back for herself! I was too afraid to eat off of mine anyway... Hmmm...#8: mom uses pet placemats at the dinner table...mol!
take that, placemat! I'm not afraid anymore!
Congratulations on your award! It's nice to learn more about the mums behind the cats.
ReplyDeleteA big congrats to you on the award. Your Mom sounds a lot like ours. Especially about the new electronic books. She feels like a book is too valuable as a book. It was fun reading about your Mom. Hope you all have a wonderful day.
ReplyDeleteConcats on your award and thanks so much for passing it on to us!
ReplyDeleteWe really enjoyed reading about your mom. Ours can relate to the lack of fashion sense/style. She figures if she's clean and tidy, that's enough. Slacks and a tee-shirt or sweater is her standard. Our human also doesn't have any sort of e-reader, either, and wouldn't. Nothing beats holding a real book and turning real pages!
Congratulations on your award Fraidy Cats, it was really fun to learn about your mum! I can't even begin to imagine what that possum encounter was like - yikes!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for passing it along and including me in the fun! I'll try to think up some interesting answers so be sure to pop by tomorrow :-))))))
Congrats on your award! And we enjoyed learning more about your mom. The only thing our mom has wrassled in our house is a cricket! Haha!! She shoulda let us have it!!
ReplyDeleteAnd we love those placemats! We would like to eat off of those!
How fun to learn stuff about your Mom! It's funny how they end up doing something 180 degrees from their original studies.
ReplyDeleteOur Mommy has a Kindle and you would have to pry it out of her cold, dead hands to get her to part with it. She says it's great to ALWAYS have 100's of books with her! But she likes print books too, of course.
The worst thing our Mommy has tangled with is a sidewinder (baby)...and she used a bromm to help him along to the desert across the street.
Congratulations on the very nice award and we enjoyed reading about your Mom!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on the award and thanks so much for thinking of us!...We enjoyed reading about your Mom, it's nice to get to know her better...Have a fun day, sweet friends...kitty kisses...Calle, Halle, Sukki
