Last week Pip and I had to go to the v-e-t. She all ready told you a little about her appointment. But she left out the part about the terrible car ride, the loud kids in the v-e-t office, the other crying woofies and kitties there, not to mention the whole ordeal of being poked and prodded!
Our mom doesn't care for our local doctor but she found a good holistic practice in another town...50 squillion miles away! Have I mentioned I don't like car rides? I sing, though, to pass the time. My favorite is "99 bottles of niptinis on the wall". At first I was singing solo but Pip joined in too. Then we kind of complained back in forth about the whole situation.
It was time for my regular check up plus I needed my bloods checked on account of my kidneys aren't too good. I got to take the Senior Wellness Exam too! I'm eight years old now! That makes me a senior! It seems hard to believe. I sure don't feel like one.
I get really skeered at the v-e-t. I try to hide under the bed in my ptu, hoping mom won't find me. It never works. She kept pulling me out for one thing or another and putting me back in. I just wanted to be left alone!
Well, efurrything was good with my blood too. My kidney numbers hadn't changed from last year, so that was good. My BUN is a little high but not bad. The Doc said it could stay like that furrever and I'd be good. I even gained a little weight.
But I still have my girlish-cat figure.
I was really quiet on the ride home. I didn't feel much like singing. Pip talked a little bit. She didn't feel like singing either! I guess we're safe for another year.
Whoa! I can't imagine being the car for 50 miles! That would be sheer torture - and then just to wind up at the vet's! If your human wants to take you to that holistic place for your check ups, she should at least move next door to it! Yeah, that's the thing to do!!
ReplyDeleteWow, what a long journey you had to go on. I only have to go 5 minutes down the road and I shout all the way there and all the way back. I also try to poke mummy with my paws through the carrier. Well, why not :) Glad you got on well there and everything is going ok. Fancy being called a senior at 8!!!! Ha, you wait till I find Simba and tell him he is a senior hee he :)xx
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy for your results
ReplyDeleteI have to give applause to your mommy. She looks after you so well.
Hugs to you and your mommy, Well done : )
xoxo
I hate going to the vet too. Even though my vet lady is really nice, and only 4 minutes drive away, last time I pooped in my carrier to show my displeasure. Ha!
ReplyDelete50 miles would be sheer torture, as Sparkle said! We "sing" and we're only 10 minutes from our vet.
ReplyDeleteWe're glad your results are good, though!
Eight's a little young to be called a senior, we think. :-)
I'm sure you two were exhausted from the ordeal and that's why you weren't singing on the way home. We are relieved to hear that you had a good check up and that you won't have to go back for a loooong time :-)
ReplyDeleteWe are glad your tests came back good. Mom shuddered at the thought of 50 miles in the car with any of us. :)
ReplyDeleteSounds like an excellent check up! (but a long car ride for everyone!) We're glad your buns are good. MOL!
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear that your checkup went well! Mom always knows whats best for us :D
ReplyDeleteYay, that your results were good!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteAnd YAY, YAY, YAY, that you shouldn't have to go thru that for another year!!!!!!!!!!
xxxxxx
OMC. FIFTY MILES!?!
ReplyDeleteWe'd be hoarse after the first five. Mommy says we howl like fire sirens but actually we're singing Wagner operas...Mommy is so uncultured.
We are happy that's all over for another year...and hubba hubba for that "furlish gigger", we mean girlish figger!
Well, the vet visit sounded bad, but we are glad the results were good! And we are admirin yer girlcatly figure. We girls dont have that. I am too skinny and Iza is too fat.

Wow! 50 miles!! That is a very long way!! My Goro does not sing, but he complains. He keeps saying "why? why?" like he is asking why he should go to the vet. Car ride is really a hard part - even worse than being in the vet office! It will be a long time before you have to go on a ride again, it's a good news :-)
ReplyDeleteWhoa we thought our trip of 20 minutes was bad but 50 miles...EEK! Well we are so glad to hear that you got a glowing Vet report. WHEW that is over for the year.

I'm so glad the vet report was good! One of our carriers is out. Hmmmmmmm!
ReplyDeleteThat's a long way to go just to get to the v-e-t! You poor things! I get skeered at the v-e-t too. Kit gets hissy and growly. I am a senior now too.
ReplyDeleteI was going to say how good Cody is in the car on the way to the vet but he doesn't have to ride for 50 miles!
ReplyDeleteGlad your numbers weren't bad and hopefully all will be ok til next year!
We are going to post about Cody's vet visit next week!
Look at your darling tail Smidgen!
ReplyDeleteGlad you're both good!
Oh that is such good news that your bloods were all right. We sing like crazy too when riding in that big machine. We hate it worse than anything. But a good report is sure the best thing ever. Do have a really fun day today.
ReplyDeleteSmidgen, we are so glad you and Pip did so well at the v-e-t. You two deserve LOTS of treats and snuggles for putting up with that 50 mile car ride!
